Team Lincolnshire – Health & Wellbeing Event
The Active Partnerships: Driving Community Growth and Economic Prosperity event took place at the end of June where Wingman’s Rory Underwood was honoured to be asked to host the event.
Held at Butlin’s Skegness, the objective of the event, organised and run by Team Lincolnshire, was to collaborate, consider and co-create opportunities to improve health and wellbeing of the people of Greater Lincolnshire and Rutland, supporting greater economic productivity and prosperity for the region.
With 30% of the adult population of Lincolnshire being ‘inactive’ (that is, they move for less than 30 minutes a week), high levels of diabetes, an ageing population and an escalating number of people over 50 experiencing long term health conditions and evidence of the widening inequalities gap, this event couldn’t be more important with the cost of living rising and the importance of health and wellbeing.
The event saw some of Greater Lincolnshire key people within health and wellbeing attend the event, one being Emma Tatlow, Chief Executive of Active Lincolnshire and a fellow Team Lincolnshire ambassador. As keynote speaker for the event, Emma spoke about tackling the challenges of inactivity, how Active Lincolnshire can better support local communities and how by working together we can get Lincolnshire moving more.
Rory was the host with most, as he always is, and got everyone engaging with the discussion topics for the day as well as facilitating the Q&A where there were some great questions from attendees.
Commenting on the day, Rory said. ‘What a great opportunity to bring together some of the most influential people in the health and wellbeing sector in Greater Lincolnshire and Rutland to discuss and contribute to ‘Let’s Move Lincolnshire’.
