How to Recruit, Retain and Motivate Conference

Organised by the Sustainable Business Growth Programme at Business Lincolnshire over 75 people attended the ‘How to Recruit, Retain and Motivate Conference at Petwood Hotel in Woodhall Spa at the beginning of March.

Businesses from the Lincolnshire region including construction, manufacturing, recruitment, legal and agricultural heard experts in their field talk about how they as a business can ‘Recruit, Retain and Motivate’ employees.

Our director Rory was invited to speak at the event about teams and team working pulling on his experiences and knowledge not only from the last 20 years in the business world but also his RAF and rugby careers. He spoke about the eight assumptions people make in business and how to turn those around as well as what makes a high performing team.

Rorys speech complimented those given by Lucy Moyle from ThirtyThree, Natalie Douglas and Lee Parker from Veredus who all spoke around the ‘Importance of Employer Brand and the Power of Research’. This was followed by Claire Threapleton, owner of T10 Consulting, who also MC’d the event, discuss Lincolnshire’s approach to recruitment – the issues, struggles and lack of certain skills locally.

Commenting on the conference, one delegate said, “I really enjoyed all the content of today’s conference which has been very thought provoking” whilst another said “Really great day thank you. Would have loved for it to be a full day!” and another said “Very useful and thought provoking event.”
